Exams are round the corner.

I'm so sad that Korean (lak1201) is over.
I have had the most fruitful and enriching module in my 3 and a half years in NUS and I am so thankful that we J managed to appeal so that we could take it this sem.
I believe that learning, is all about acquiring knowledge that can be useful as well as doing something that you enjoy. So often as students, we always choose to take modules by considering how easy it is, if it fits into our timetables and if our friends are taking them (even i am guilty as well) but sometimes, spending a little more time and effort, regardless of grades, can make this learning journey ever more fulfilling.

It is true that this is merely a basic course, but as i enquired from my korean teacher (선생님) on my last class, she says if i go out to NUS extension to continue, i'll be at level 4. well, it only highlights how intensive language modules are in school. Then again, perhaps if i go to Korea now and attempt my half-past-six korean conversations, i'll probably only know how to order food (which IS the most important thing, no?) and perhaps ask where i am and introduce myself (though i'm pretty sure no one is gonna be interested in my age and where i stay:).
But i've got to say, i'll definitely be less lost compared to someone else who is clueless and can't read Korean (which i can do so quite fluently now).

One key thing though, is also the bond that J and I have forged over the language. Being the first module we have taken together, all my fears of being competitive have been eradicated (not!). HAHA, well as usual J does generally above average in everything, and i thought perhaps if i take a language with him, i might just do better. You know how girls are supposed to be better at languages and all.. yeahh, MY ASS. (unless J is a girl) as usual, he has beaten me in Korean as well, i only beat him in ONE test by one mark. BUTT i'm not complaining, this smarty pants is mine to keep, so he'll be my pocket dictionary everything!
Well, in all honesty i'm glad he was there with me, not only did he make it easier but definitely also more enjoyable! And most of all, its our secret language to tell each other sweet nothings (although it'd probably backfire in Korea), and no one will understand us!

타비씨, 사랑해요! 우리 네녕에 한구에 같이 갑시다! ♥
